The County Treasurer is an elected position. "Ronnie" Hershey has served as Perry County's Treasurer since 1991. She has a strong financial background, with more than 16 years of banking experience.
All County money is invested in certificates, MMDA, or checking, and are invested by the County Treasurer on behalf of the county.
The office assists in the preparation of the bid documents for the selection of financial institutions used by the County.

Sales Tax
The County Treasurer can provide Sales Tax Charts for the current sales tax rates.
Effective the first day of October 2008, a business within the City of Perryville has a rate of 7.725 percent, and all other areas in the county use a rate of 5.850 percent.
