Overview
The governing body for the Perry County Government is the Perry County Commissioners. The three Commissioners are elected for four-year terms.

Responsibilities
The Commissioners directly supervise department heads for all county services, which are not under the authority of the other elected officials. Their areas of responsibility include:
  • Facility maintenance
  • Health services
  • Landfills
  • Planning
  • Roads
In addition, the Commissioners are responsible for:
  • Adopting the annual budget and tax levy
  • Meeting regularly in open meetings
  • Approving and adopting all County contracts, agreements, and policies
  • Appointing members of various County boards
