County Commission Changes Meeting Time

Effective May 6, 2021 the Perry County Commission will be altering their bi-weekly meeting time, moving Thursday’s standard meeting from 9 am to 1 pm in the Perry County Commission Chambers at the Perry County Administration Building.

This schedule change will be indefinite. The previous schedule, put in place in November of 1990, was Mondays and Thursdays at 9 am.-Noon.

Current commission members include District One Commissioner Jay Wengert, District Two Commissioner Keith Hoehn and Presiding Commissioner Mike Sauer.

Presiding Commissioner Mike Sauer said the change was necessary to better suit the commissioners’ scheduled obligations to the number of community boards and organizations that as commissioners they serve as members who represent Perry County, as well as to give those who need to conduct business with the county of the commission an alternate afternoon time of availability.

“Community members may find it difficult to attend morning meetings but may have the ability to attend a meeting later in the afternoon,” Sauer said. “This way, we are offering two different options, and we can be more accessible to the community members we were elected to serve.”

The Perry County Commission meetings will now be held on Mondays from 9 am until noon, and on Thursdays, 1 pm. until 4 pm. on the second floor of the Perry County Administration Building located at 321 N. Main St. Meeting minutes and agendas can be found online at www.perrycountymo.us under the commission tab located in the list of government offices.
